Grants
Grants are widely available, it's just knowing where to search for them and to figure out what requirements you fill.
You can get grants specifically for certain religions, races, ages, sexes, people with certain disabilities, or even with a family history of having worked in a certain job. They most often favour those under financial difficulties and often will desire to work with other charities to chip in the money required, especially if it's a big sum.
Some have very specific things they will and will not grant funding for, so make sure you check through their requirements and have proof of your income, how you've tried to help yourself without them first, and quotes from those who you'd like to purchase stuff from (often they want to send the money directly to an organisation for the items). With medical ones you often will need a professional to support or even complete your application for it to be considered. |
