Most people think migraines are really bad headaches. But as is typical of me to be atypical, I've learn that this is NOT the case. Let me share.
I happen to have silent migraines. These ones occur without a headache*. (Insanity, I know. Try to get a definition of what a migraine is WITHOUT a headache and see if you get anything because I honestly can't get a decent answer!)
I instead get migraine auras. These are common in a bunch of sufferers of migraines, they are basically sensory distortions that arise from the migraine. Often they can happen before the migraine headache, as a sort of warning.
Other times, they can happen without any headache to follow. This is the kind of thing I get.
Whether intentional or not, the video below looks so much like the kind of visual aura I experience on an almost daily basis, that I didn't noticed the first couple of times I watched it that it wasn't normal!
Watch it and see if anything seems familiar. It kicks in mostly around 2.50mins.
*Slight untruth, I have a constant mild headache, but nothing one would normally consider migraine-like; more like having a tight band around the head constantly.

Migraine auras can be; visual like mine, with white blobs, stars or bright coloured lines/zigzags, the world looking like its got waves or tilting. Tactile, like burning, numbness/tingling sensation, (and may account for my random sensations of bleeding!) and even auditory.
