Peer support is a very important aspect of care, one of the most important as its the ongoing care in the community; the socialisation, and the understanding you get around you, that can keep you going, or can make your life unbearable, if not received.
The lack of peer support can be what is really the most disabling aspect of a long term condition. As I often say; it is not the disability that's the most disabling part, but how other's respond to it.
